My (Hutch Kinsman) studies include a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a BS in physics from the University of Maryland. I began studying the ancient Maya culture in 1993 with a special interest in the hieroglyphics. My interest in the astronomy of the ancient Maya began in 2011, focusing on the possibilities of observations of the Maya of comets and meteor showers. In 2015 I began working with astronomer David Asher at the Armagh Observatory in Armagh Northern Ireland. We have published two papers so far drawing a connection between first the eta Aquariid meteor shower and then the Orionid meteor shower. Currently we are working on the Maya and the Perseid meteor shower.
