Likely the most active annual meteor shower that the ancient Maya might have observed during the Maya Classic Period, the ETA’s were the first meteor shower investigated by the author and astronomer David Asher. One of the astounding results of our research were orbital integrations that showed the very high probability of an incredibly intense multi-outburst early in the morning of April 10, 531. In previous investigations, Jeremy Vaubaillon also showed a maximum outburst of a rate of meteor fall of about 900 meteors per hour (ZHR), though his research did not purposely target ancient Maya dates.
